Assistant Teacher (7/21/2020)

• $14/hr+ Depending on experience and education

We are looking for a part-time assistant teacher to start training in August.

Responsibilities and Duties:
• Supporting the lead teacher with their lesson plans and monthly curriculum
• Support a learning environment that feels welcoming
• General care and play with the children in your care
• Potty training/feeding/comforting and meeting the individual needs of children that range from 2.5 years to 5 years in age
• Excellent and appropriate staff and parent communication
• Greeting families and children as they arrive or leave
• Misc. daily cleaning in classrooms and/or the center

Requirements (all of which we pay for and help you obtain):

• A negative TB test

• A Washington State Food Handler’s Permit

• STARS 30 Hour Basic Training + continued education

• Infant, Child, Adult CPR & First Aid, Blood-borne Pathogens

• Pass a background check from Department of Early Learning

The following are all desired to qualify for the position: 

• Prior experience in caring for children

• Earned a high school diploma or GED

• Reliable transportation

 

We are happy to train the right person - however preference will be given to individuals with prior experience in working with a child care center, and have taken STARS classes and/or Early Childhood Education college courses.

Program Supervisor (7/31/2020)

• $20/hr+ Depending on experience and education

We are looking for a part-time Program Supervisor, flexible on days and hours

Responsibilities and Duties:
• Support our lead teachers by guiding them as they create age appropriate and contemporary lesson plans, monthly curriculum, and classroom environments
• Support and help create a learning environment that feels welcoming
• Maintain open and excellent and appropriate staff communication

Education:

A minimum of: WA State ECE Certificate (47 credits) with at least 2 years of experience working in an early learning environment - preferably as a lead teacher.

Most desired: Associates degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, with at least 2 years of experience working in an early learning environment - preferably as a program supervisor.

• Infant, Child, Adult CPR & First Aid, Blood-borne Pathogens, a Washington State Food Handler’s Permit

• Pass a background check from Department of Early Learning

We use emergent curriculum, and are looking for a supervisor to guide our leads with planning their monthly lesson plans.  This is a part time position where you will only be on site two days a week to work one on one with our teachers.  The ideal applicant is open minded, patient, and willing to work with our teachers on achieving their vision, all while guiding them using your prior experience and contemporary knowledge on early childhood education.
